Film Extras

The following is a list of the current productions filming in the Altanta area. These postings are calls for extras to work on set. However, actors could also use this information to find out what is filming.

Atlanta has a large number of projects filming within the city and metro area. Georgia state offers a 30% tax break to film here. As a result, the Atlanta film industry has grown tremendously over the past ten years.

Film Extras are people in the background. If a TV show films in a restaurant, other patrons will be visible in background behind the main actors. Or, if there is a scene on a busy city street, they may be people and cars going by. The people in the background are known as extras. Extras are paid minimum wage, and shooting usually lasts for 6 to 12 hours a day. Extras will spend a large portion of the working day in holding where they wait until the scene is ready and the director is ready to shoot.

To be an extra, simply submit a picture of yourself to the casting agency in the postings below. Please follow any specific instructions the agency as provided.
